HOW TO LOOK EXPENSIVE ON A BUDGET

With so many luxury designers coming out with the most beautiful pieces, it is hard not to long for them! And if you, like most people, don't want to make an investment purchase every time you shop, seeing gorgeous designer pieces may make you feel a bit off-put. No need to worry, it is entirely possible to look expensive and put together while maintaining your budget. Check out some of my tips and picks down below, everything linked is $100 and under.

Wear Neutrals

Stick to neutral colours: pink, beige, white, tan, navy and black. The colours are classic and easy to pair with a multitude of things. If you want to add a pop of colour, look to a deep burgundy. Don't be afraid to play with neutral patterns either (keep in mind that smaller more compact patterns often look more refined)

Embrace Dressing from Head to Toe

Coordinating pieces is an automatic way to appear "put-together". Try a matching skirt/top combo, maxi dress or jumpsuit.

Find Some Designer Dupes

These days, designer dupes are easy to come by. Although they may not look like a perfect replica, these dupes pose the perfect opportunity to get the look but for less. Zimmerman, Tory Burch and Gucci almost always have dupes made of them...

Consider a Blazer

When wearing a blazer, keep it simple underneath. There is nothing more casual-chic than a pair of dark wash jeans, white t-shirt, navy blazer with loafers.

Keep Jewellery Simple

One of the best pieces of advice I have ever been given is to make sure the plating on your jewellery matching. For example, don't wear silver earrings and a gold necklace. Keep it uniform.

Don't Fall Into the Logo Trap

It's my fashion pet-peeve when I see t-shirts or purses with excessively large designer logos on them. It distracts too much! Remember that you should be wearing the clothes, the clothes should not be wearing you.

A Final Note

Two final tips... Firstly, always tailor your clothing. You can have the most beautiful clothing in the world but if they do not fit you properly, what's the point? Secondly, grooming is so important. Make sure that your nails are done (no need for colour if you don't want), your hair is washed and that your makeup is simple. A sure fire way to instantly elevate your outfits is to make sure you look clean and polished.
